Summer Tote Bags from Coach

I really do love purses, but it’s still not everyday that a bag on display in a store window will make me stop in my tracks.  These summer tote bags from Coach are the cutest, most whimsical purses I’ve seen in a long time, and I’m not even a big fan of Coach! The coarse canvas body, the rope handle, the leather trim, the little “baggage tags” and the green, brown, and gold beading scream “SUMMER!”  It’s like a wonderful seaside holiday of lazy days lounging on sandy beaches and wandering through tide pools has been incarnated into a collection of totes.

The beaded canvas bag below is my favorite. I love how they’ve embellished the Coach logo with different shapes and colors of beads. The clear plastic baggage tags are a wonderful little detail. I love that there’s both a traditional handle and a removable shoulder strap.

I don’t love the second one quite as much as the first, but the beaded starfish is pretty great. I also love the little portholes with the completely decorative leather ties. So casual and cute, but so glamorous as well.

My only wish is that I had purchased one! But I didn’t and now I only have the photos to enjoy.

What do you think of them?  Do you find them as fabulously whimsical as I do?

I’m not usually a big Coach fan…but these are a crazy knockout!!! I’m super distracted at the idea of going to get the one with the starfish! They are so fun, and so worth writing about :)

I didn’t want to go into the store for fear I would be tempted to spend too much!

Me too. That’s my favorite. There’s something about the beading that just makes me happy.

They’re very “you”, only you would have found some amazing vintage version in a box in the back of a shop somewhere! I was just wandering around the local mall…

Isn’t it though! I have to be strong and NOT go back, otherwise the credit card might sneak out of my purse, which would be a very bad thing.

Me too Faye! They’re so much fun, where as Fall and Winter bags seem so much more serious.

I can see you wearing one with one of your traditional Indian outfits. It would look great!

Loving these–I’m not a Coach fan, I’ve never even owned one–but I like these a lot. Love those C’s they kind of remind me of Chanel, and the rope detail is really great too. I’m glad you wrote about these otherwise I would never have known that they are doing cuter stuff.

Believe me when I walked past the store window I was shocked. I don’t dislike their work but it doesn’t usually make me want to jump up and down either. These, on the other hand, were so fun and whimsical! Glad you like them too.
