Dot dress

Last week I wrote a post about a shopping trip to a local consignment store, Clothes Heaven, so this week I thought I’d show you one of the two dresses I purchased. I’m calling this one my “dot dress” because it’s covered in dots of different sizes. The cotton shirt-waist dress is cool and comfortable. I can tell it’s going to be one of my hot weather favorites.

My “Dot Dress”

I have had a hankering for a shirt-waist dress for just ages.  I was considering sewing one myself as I simply couldn’t find anything that looked just right.  Even though I find this style of dress very elegant, they can be boring too. This unusual circle print takes what could be an ultra-traditional look and makes it into something sensational.

The day I wore this dress the weather was warm and sunny.  My family and I spent the afternoon wandering the promenade in Santa Monica and taking in the beautiful ocean views.

  • Dress – La Via 18
  • Sunnies – Prada
  • Bag – Bagalini
  • Shoes -Franco Sarto

Do you have a favorite dress?  What’s it like? I want to know! Leave a comment and tell me about it.

Thanks Sacramento! It’s still really hot here too. Hard to get excited about “fall” when the weather is so warm!

What a beautiful scenery & landscape!

I do have three favourite dresses:

    1) Offwhite, short, tight lace dress
    2) Flowing margenta silk dress with v-neck (knee-long)
    3) Egg-shell silk blouse-dress

I`m a sucker for silk, it makes me feel sexy and elegant.

There’s nothing quite like silk. It does feel wonderful against the skin. I don’t have nearly enough of it.

I think I’ve seen your lace dress. Did you wear it in an outfit post once?

Let’s talk about the fact you look like a model in these photos…. or some wildly stylish celeb. Either way, these photos are great!

You noticed! Yes, I’ve changed the layout a bit, trying to streamline everything. I hate clutter in general, and I’m always trying to strip my website down to the essentials and have that sidebar flow in a logical manner. It seems like an eternal project though.
