Brunch and Window Shopping

Ahhh…Sunday brunch on a warm fall morning in Los Angeles.  Actually I think it was closer to noon, but that didn’t keep me from sampling the vegetarian sausages and drinking a large cup of coffee with my eggs and home fries.  After a really lovely meal my husband and I wandered around the area peering into store windows. Even though I had no plans to purchase anything for myself I did visit my favorite local vintage boutique. There is always a new treasure to be found at Revival Vintage.

I cannot tell you how much I wanted the green, 1980’s, snakeskin clutch above. But I stayed true to my intent not to purchase anything for myself.  After all, I was carrying a lovely vintage bag as it was.  The brown clutch I’m holding in the photo below was found at an antique emporium in a lovely little town in Oregon during our family camping trip this summer.

  • Leopard Print Sunglasses – Lafont
  • Necklace – Forever 21
  • Camisole – Target
  • Skirt – Leith, purchased at Nordstrom
  • Purse – Vintage
  • Silk Scarf – purchased at Loehmanns years ago
  • Leather Bracelet – purchased at Loehmanns
  • Plastic tortoise-shell cuff –  Esprit, vintage
  • Kitten heel sandals – Nine West

Do you have a favorite local vintage store? Do you have any vintage purses?  Tell me about them.

Thank you Anne! In real estate terms the area is called “Walk to Temple” due to the large Jewish population, but it’s just South of West Hollywood and North of the Miracle Mile.

Where is this revival vintage you speak of? I will visit the site!) And why haven’t we gone? More specifically, why haven’t we gone shopping at all?!

You know, thats a very good question. We must remedy this! My husband and I ate at Kokomos – if you haven’t been you must go at once with your husband. Revival Vintage is right across the street on Beverly, well at any rate it’s either on 3rd and Martel or Beverly and Martel.

I have just about caught up on most of your recent post!
WOW – Can I just say how amazing you look (in all your posts)! Also the red lips-stunning.

Sure looks warm in LA – love the red door backdrop! Awesome photos!

I took the photos two weeks ago when we had a little heat wave. It was about 90 degrees that day! The weather is pretty mercurial here which makes seasonal dressing challenging. Right now it’s rather cold, which makes me happy because I can layer!
So glad you like my posts and photos!

    Cuban and Italian, wowwwwwwwwwwwww.
My daughters were born in England so I let them to decide when or if they wanted their ears pierced. They did at the age of 6 or 7.
So nice to know more about you!!!

My daughter still hasn’t had her ears pierced, though I’ve told her I’ll take her to have it done. At 11 she’s still figuring out her personal style, though she definitely has her own taste.

Lovely photography and great chic outfit! I actually prefer your bag to the green one. Sometimes it’s better just to admire thing as in: I really like this; Let’s not buy it (but admire it instead). This line will be featured in tomorrow’s post 🙂

I look forward to your post on the subject! I think sometimes looking is even more fun than buying. I am having a clutch obsession, fueled no doubt by all the street style blogs I follow where just about every chic girl is carrying a clutch. Meanwhile I can only find them at vintage stores. Sigh.

What a super-lovely post! Totally as I picture Los Angeles.

You look great in front of the red door and the paisley scarf is the perfect accessory for the outfit!

    Love, Jen

The palm trees, the sunshine, the outdoor dining, it’s LA at it’s best for sure. So glad you like the outfit and the scarf.

Thanks Pam! The shop is fabulous but, like many wonderful places here in L.A., rather pricey. Still, I love to look! Thanks so much for stopping by.

What a gorgeous day – and I love your outfit, so cool and chic. And is that a clear lucite bag you’re holding? Excellent! : >

    • Heather Fonseca December 7, 2011 at 6:20 pm #

Oh my gosh! Isn’t that clear bag amazing? Better have some really great cosmetics to put in it because it will show them off.

I’m doing pretty well on the Christmas shopping this year thank goodness. It helps that the weather has been gorgeous and the shops all have enticing window displays.

That is a lovely green bag. Good for you for being strong and not buying for you. I know it must have been hard to resist. Love your skirt and your necklace.
Just saw your feature on the Citizen and I LOVE that photo of you with the black coat at night. Truly amazing: great lighting, great scenery and fashionable subject. Perfection!!

It was hard to resist, but it was more than $200, so that made it a little easier! I just don’t have that kind of money to splurge on something trendy, no matter how cute. I do love that store though. It’s beautiful.
I’m so glad you like the photo. It’s from one of my first serious fashion shoots on the blog. My husband was still experimenting with his camera and the evening was really fun except for this creepy guy that kept following us around asking for money.

Ah, yes… I adore brunch in LA! So many amazing spots to choose from. Where did you go this time?

Such an awesome outfit post. I love those red doors behind you! I’ll have to check out that vintage store, too…

We were at Kokomos on Beverly and Martel. Kokomos is a true LA establishment. For years and years they were located at the Farmers Market. Now they’re at their new location serving the same fabulous food. The vintage store is right across the street. We should meet there one day!

I like vintage stuff (that skirt is hot) but I always thinks it looks silly when I try to pull it off. I enjoy looking at it in the window but cant take the next step

It’s not that hard! Start with an accessory like a purse or a little pin and work from there.
