The heat wave continues in Los Angeles and I fight back my way. “Bring it on!” I say, because now I have the perfect olive-green printed silk dress to combat the heat in style. It occurred to me, after looking at about a zillion photos of chic women in New York City look fab in sweltering heat, that a pretty dress is simply unbeatable in these situations.
I found this silk dress at my favorite consignment boutique, Ampersand. I can’t say it was cheap, silk never is, nor should it be considering how the fiber is made. The dress is slightly longer in the back, and the print is an abstract design in olive, my favorite color at the moment, and black. It is as light as a breeze. I’m wearing it with gladiator sandals for comfort, and my big orange purse for a bit of autumn flair. Leopard print sunglasses and olive-green dangle earrings finish the look.
I thought this dress would look good and keep me cool in the heat, but I also think I’ll be able to add some layers later in the year when the weather is colder. Yes, I’m still dreaming of real fall weather. One day…
