This furry leopard print coat originally kept my grandmother warm and now I wear it to brave the California coast’s coldest weather. On the day I walked through San Francisco’s Chinatown I wore it with red jeans, comfortable chunky boots, a little black hat and gloves. It rained and stormed off and on throughout the day. The wind off the bay was icy and the rain came in sheets occasionally, but the coat kept me perfectly warm all day long.
Do you have a leopard print coat that you love too? Check out this article for more ideas on how to wear it.
Wearing:
- The leopard coat belonged to my grandmother. My aunt bought it for her at Macy’s a long time ago, but there are lots of furry leopard coats for sale today as well. Click here, here and here for some chic options.
- A black turtleneck T-shirt from Target
- J-Brand red skinny jeans
- Black boots by Kork-Ease
- A black purse from Nordstrom
- My mothers wool gloves
- Vintage black beret
Would you wear this outfit in the winter?

Aw, thanks Jeannie! I wish I was. I have such a desire to visit Paris again. It’s been too long! (Literally. twenty years.)
LOve this leopard! So chic.
I have had many renditions of this; I remember one in a trapeze shape from the 90s.
I’m here in soCal right now and thank God it got warmer!

Thanks Paula! I so wish I still had my 1990′s black wool trapeze coat. Sigh. It wasn’t super expensive but it was very chic. Unfortunately I had it stored in the garage in a garment bag and mice got into it. Oh well. As for the weather, it has finally warmed up here. I’m loving it too!

That coat is stunning. Even better that it was your grandmother’s.

Utterly nice coat. Very well combined as well. Also had a look at all your links to other leopard coats… so nice.
If you get tired of it, just ship it off to The Netherlands and I will pay you a handsome price. LOL

You look fabulous in this coat Heather. I loved how you turned it into a really hip look with your booties and skinnies.
I have never been one to wear animal print myself, although I love wearing my leopard belt and would consider a sheer animal print blouse. I would also consider it for shoes and bags.

I’m a fan of a bit of leopard print and I love the coat was passed down to you from your grandmother I think that’s the loveliest thing about it all. I also love that you teamed it with the burgundy pants and ankle boots.

I’ve been dying to get a leopard print coat and have even tried on several. Just don’t get a lot of use out of coats here in Florida so I never purchase one. I would love that coat.
The weather in LA is a bit too warm for me most of the year, I’m so glad I can wear furry coats once in a while. I don’t think I would be happy in Florida! Maybe you can get some leopard print in you wardrobe another way. It looks good on just about everything.

It is so easy to phone it in when it comes to style on a cold day. Love that you made your winter look chic and cuddly!
Thanks Alexis! I didn’t do quite as well other days, which is why this is the last San Fran post from my latest trip there. I think the thing is to always try, even if it doesn’t work out so well.

And now I want some almond cookies – thanks a lot! Haha.
I love wearing fake fur because it’s like having a stuffed animal on hand!
