Shoe Shopping Online

Online Shoe ShoppingMy biggest problem with shoe shopping is not finding my size, it’s finding shoes I like! I want my shoes, sandals and boots to be simultaneously chic, comfortable, and flattering on my 9.5 size feet. I can’t abide really high heels, but I still like to wear a bit of a heel just because it is so flattering to the leg. Oh, and sling-backs are out. They push my toes forward and drive me crazy. To make all this even more complicated I need to find shoes that fit my budget. I can’t tell you how many fabulous shoes I’ve seen in the designer section of Barney’s, but $2,000 for a pair of shoes is beyond my means. All of this sends me shoe shopping online because I often cannot find what I want  at my local retail stores. Going online means I can find a much larger selection of styles and prices to fit my taste and my wallet. Take for instance the selection above. It only took me a few minutes of online shoe shopping to find four pairs of sandals I would LOVE to find in my closet this summer.

Shoe Shopping at Brand Boudoir

Online Shoe Shopping - Brand Boudoir
Brand Boudoir offers a rather trendy array of shoes including some very fun studded sandals like these Ash Shoes. I really like the studded gladiator sandals and the ankle straps.

Lotus Shoes Online

Online Shoe Shopping - Lotus Shoes

Lotus Shoes is based in the UK but ships internationally. They offer the brand Naturalizer, which I really like for both looks and comfort. They also have a nice selection of comfortable looking wedge sandals, but what I really like about this site is their How to Wear It page. Here they take one of their shoe styles and pair it with an outfit for an idea of how to wear the shoe to it’s best. The combinations are all really wearable. I can kind of see myself in the printed dress with the red pumps and matching handbag.

Shoe Shopping at Mozimo

Online Shoe Shopping - Mozimo
MoZiMo is another online shoe store with a large selection of comfortable women’s shoe brands. I especially like the look of brand Fitflops. Considering I live in my flip flops it might be a good idea for me to buy a few more. The one’s I have are getting really ratty. One of the things I noticed about this site is the amount of photos shown for each shoe style. You really get a good idea of how the shoe looks when there are five views to look at.

I find shoe shopping online very difficult. My feet blister easy in summer and I want to feel the shoe before putting it on. So I don’t shop much online anymore. And certainly not in the States. Too much shipping costs.

The online stores I mentioned all ship internationally, and I think they’re all based in the UK, though it’s hard to know for sure with online shops! I agree with you about trying shoes on, but sometimes I just get so frustrated with the options at retail here in LA. No one really walks here, so most of the shoes are really silly. High high heels are the norm. It makes me nuts!

Not a big fan of online shoe shopping. I really need to feel the shoes on my feet because they have to be comfortable.

I do buy shoes on-line. I do, however, prefer no shipping charge (even if order over a certain amount) and return back to the store (hate repacking and hauling the box to UPS or USPS).

The places I’d buy shoes are Urban Outfitters, Nordstroms, and Zara.

UO has interesting brands (on line only) and the popular ones they stick to selling popular styles in their current colors.

Nordstrom doesn’t have the best price but hey, free shipping and return to store. I can deal with that.

Zara when on sale has great bargains.

Amazon I’d tried a few times but find it hard to return and exchange (shipping charge and turn around time) even though you can find A LOT of shoes there.

Zappos I also tried a few times but the price point and having to ship the return bother me.

6PM (Zappos’ sale site) has a lot of good bargains but the shipping charge is HIGH.

I also shop at shoe brands’ site like Nine West and Steve Madden. Sometimes they have really good sale prices and there are retail shops I can return the items.

    Boy I shop a lot, don’t I?

Oh my gosh what great shopping advice! Thank you. I’ll have to check all those out. I always forget about Nordstroms no shipping fees. That is cool.

I’m a difficult size, small and narrow. I’m still holding out for Margiela tabi ankle boots…and a certain pair of Rick Owens. 😉

Oh, Rick Owens shoes would be divine! Please let us know if you ever get either.

I really like the “How To Wear It” feature even if you don’t plan on buying a whole outfit it can still help you plan according to your own wardrobe.

Hi Marie. Yeah, it’s a nice feature.
