Full Disclosure Policy (No Exceptions)
In accordance with the new disclosure policy required by the Federal Trade commission, if I have been paid to post a link to a product or website I must disclose at both the beginning of the article and again at the end. A disclosure must appear near the paid link as well. If I have been given an item for review I must disclose that the product was given to me at the beginning of the post and again at the end. If I wear a gifted item later in other, non-review related, outfit posts I will include a link back to the original sponsor with a discloser that the item was a gift from the company.
In addition all sponsored posts, be they reviews, guest posts or advertorial posts with paid links, will be categorized as a sponsored post.
Product Reviews
I am open to creating reviews on books, jewelry, apparel, handbags, shoes, and other fashion pieces, as well as beauty products such as makeup, skin care, and hair care. However, I will only write about products and apparel I truly like and consider of value to my readers. In order for a beauty product to be reviewed on The Style Confessions™ it must look great and work well. Apparel and jewelry must be to my taste. I do not post negative reviews on my site but I also will not mislead my readers by writing a dishonest review. Only those products which I feel are appropriate for review will be posted on The Style Confessions™, therefore I reserve the right to not review any item sent to me.
Sponsoring Outfit Posts
Clothing, jewelry, handbags & other related samples may be sent to me for use in an outfit post on The Style Confessions™. Outfit posts consist of 4-8 high quality photographs of the me in an outfit of my choosing along with some text that explains or romances the images. If I wear a garment that has been sent to me for review or to be worn as part of an outfit post I will link to your site with “Gift from (your brand here)”. In accordance to my full disclosure policy all items which have been sent to me for review will be labeled as such.
I reserve the right to not review or post products for any reason.
Clothing and other items will be considered gifts and will not be returned unless I have agreed in advance that the product will be returned after review, and only if the sender agrees to pay for the return shipping. While I make every attempt to work with samples I receive, if for any reason I determine that your sample cannot be used, I will work with you to find another way to highlight your brand. Please understand that I still reserve the right not to return unwanted samples.
Guest Posts
Guest posts by fellow bloggers and sponsors are welcome on The Style Confessions. If you wish to submit an article for consideration please contact me here with your name, the name of your blog and a link, or the name of the sponsor and a link to their site. Please note that I consider commercial websites sponsors and must disclose their guest posts as such. Also, I consider links to commercial sites a form of advertisement and will require payment for such links. All guest posts with paid product links must abide by the Federal Trade Commission’s Disclosure Guidelines.
As with all sponsored posts I like promoting companies who have a similar look and feel to the outfits and aesthetics presented on this blog. My readers are my first priority so I do not allow any pornography or anything that looks too racy.
