Blogs in Style: 10 Fabulous Posts from Around the Web, July 3rd, 2012

One of the things I love about reading blogs is that they are set in the here and now. Magazines, by their very nature, must be planned and created months in advance, but bloggers only need a few days to create their posts. As a result the web has a timely quality that resonates with me. Pretty soon the fashion mags will be full of dark colors and heavy textures, but I’m not ready for the seriousness of autumn. I’m interested in warm weather, bathing suits, family vacations and other fun-in-the-sun activities. Chic Vintage Eyeglasses and the Truth about Fashion Blogging

There are a lot of nice aspects to being a style blogger, or a fashion blogger, or whatever it is that we who posts photos of our outfits online call ourselves.  One is meeting other people who share our passion for fashion and clothing.  Another is being invited by these new friends to local store openings and fashion-related events. This weekend he charming Sasha Jones of LA Inspiration asked my husband and I to attend a party at a local eyewear boutique. The store, called The Guise Archives, offers a large selection of beautiful vintage eyeglass frames.  They sell new, high-end frames as well, but I was so obsessed with the chunky vintage sunglasses that I wasn’t able to focus on much else. My friend and fellow fashion blogger Anne Bray of Spy Girl joined us at the event. We tried on lots of sunglasses.  It was fun. Continue Reading →
